TRAVEL



IRISH RAIL: The 16:30 Heuston to Galway service is delayed by 45 minutes due to a mechanical fault.

IRISH RAIL: The 16:50 Connolly/ Belfast service is running 30 mins late due to earlier delay caused by a truck hitting a bridge.

MAIN TRAFFIC

N7/M7/KILDARE: Traffic is heavy again this evening southbound on the N7 Naas Rd from J7 Kill towards J10 Naas South. 

GALWAY: It's still southbound on the N18 Galway/ Limerick Rd from Cregganna to Clarinbridge. No incidents to report just busy Friday evening traffic. 

GALWAY: Delays remain northbound on the N17 Tuam Rd approaching Claregalway. 

KERRY: No further reports of delays westbound on the N72 Mallow/ Killarney Rd at Barraduff.

LEITRIM:  Delays of approx. 3 km eastbound on the N4 Sligo/ Dublin Rd approaching the bridge in Carrick-on-Shannon. No incidents reported, just volume.

LEITRIM: The N16 Sligo/ Manorhamilton Rd has reopened at Diffreen National School following a fatal collision that occurred yesterday (30th). 

DONEGAL: The N13 Letterkenny /Derry Rd is closed until further notice between Burt and Bridgend after a fatal collision last night. Motorists can divert via Burnfoot.

CLARE: Pedestrian lights are out of action in Ennis at the Clareabbey/ Rocky Rd R/A. Wet conditions around the town at the moment so slow down and drive with extra care. 


CITY TRAFFIC

GALWAY: There are delays outbound on the Seamus Quirke Rd from the Browne R/A to the Westside Playing Fields and it's slow outbound on Bohermore onto the Tuam Rd. There are delays for outbound traffic on the Headford Rd from Salmon Wier Bridge to the Kirwan R/A.  

Works will take place on the Headford Rd near the Sean Mulvoy Rd jct daily from 7am to 7pm until approx. Fri 7th Nov.

LIMERICK: The Childers Rd is slow both ways between the Parkway R/A and the Ballysimon Rd as well outbound on the Dublin Rd. It's very heavy this evening all around the city centre.  

CORK:Very heavy in both directions on the Link Rd R852 from the Skehard Rd Jct to the N40 South Ring Rd.

Delays easing outbound on the N22 Western Rd from Dyke Parade to Victoria Cross and from Victoria Cross through to Dennehy's Cross. Also easing outbound approaching Dennehy’s Cross on the Glasheen Rd R849.

Heavy approaching the Kinsale Rd R/A from Airport Hill, the South City Link Rd and the Kinsale Rd.

Very busy in Cork city centre; particularly over the Christy Ring Bridge to Lavitt's Quay. Delays on Patrick St, Shandon St, Albert St and Parnell Place. Delays inbound on Leitrim St have eased.

Delays on the N40 South Ring Rd outbound from J9 Bloomfield to the JLT.

WATERFORD: Heavy traffic on the Quay, Parnell St and Manor St in both directions, also heavy on Dunmore Rd inbound. 

EVENTS

CORK: Popes Quay will close from 6.30pm until 8.30pm this evening (31st) Oct to facilitate the Dragon of Shandon Parade.
LOUTH: Racing will take place at Dundalk Racecourse this evening (Fri). The first race is at 6.10pm and the last race is 9.10pm. Dundalk racecourse is situated approximately 1km north of Dundalk town centre, just off the M1 on the N52/Racecourse Rd. Extra traffic can be expected in the area before and after the races.

WEXFORD: Wexford Spiegeltent Festival continues in Wexford Town until Sunday (2nd Nov). There are a variety of events taking place as part of the festival and this will attract extra traffic to the area. Delays are likely as a result, particularly in the vicinity of the Quay in Wexford Town.

WEXFORD: The Wexford Opera Festival continues until Sunday (2nd Nov) in Wexford Town. Various events are taking place over the course of the festival and delays can be expected as a result.

SLIGO: The Sligo IT graduation ceremonies will take place in Sligo Town until later today. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the vicinity.

ROADWORKS

WESTMEATH: The N52 Mullingar /Kells Rd is closed between Killynan North and Turin South for works between 8:30am and 5pm today. Motorists travelling towards Mullingar should turn right onto the Delvin /Castlepollard Rd (R395), left onto the Castlepollard /Mullingar Rd (R394), then east on the N4 Sligo /Dublin Rd  to J15 Mullingar East. Motorists travelling north on the N52 should continue on the N4 westbound and exit at J17 Mullingar West and proceed north on the Castlepollard /Mullingar Rd (R394) as far as Castlepollard and then turn right onto the Delvin /Castlepollard Rd (R395) and rejoin the N52 at Delvin.

CORK:The N20 Cork/ Limerick Rd is closed in both directions between Buttevant and Lisballyhay until 8pm Tue 4th Nov. Diversions through Doneraile are in place and delays are likely along the diversion route as a result. This is part of ongoing works taking place until Dec.

LEITRIM: Works take place on the N4 Sligo/ Dublin Rd between Boyle and Carrick on Shannon at Drumharlow until Nov. Lane restrictions are in place.

GALWAY: A stop/ go system will be in place from 9am to 5pm between in Loughrea the Bride St/ Danesfort Rd jct and the Dolphin St jct as well as along Main St and Dunkellin St to facilitate works until Fri 21st Nov. Expect delays.

CORK: The N40 South Ring Rd will close eastbound between J8 Douglas and J10 Mahon from midnight until 6am every night (Monday to Saturday) until Sun 30th Nov. This is to facilitate works.

LIMERICK: Southbound traffic on the N21 Limerick/ Tralee Rd is being diverted at Newcastle West at the Old Pike R/A onto the Buttevant Rd (R522) before returning to the N21 at St It's Terrace until Fri 19th Dec. Northbound traffic will remain unaffected for the duration of the works.

MONAGHAN: The N2 Castleblayney Bypass is closed southbound from the Ballybay Rd jct to the Tullyvin R/A until approx. Nov. Diversions are in place. Delays can be expected through Castleblayney as a result.

LAOIS: The N80 Stradbally/ Carlow Rd is closed from 7am to 6pm each day at Oughaval for works until Wed 6th Nov. Diversions will be in place. 

WICKLOW: Diversions are in place on the N11 Wexford/ Dublin Rd at Jack Whites due to ongoing works until March 2015. Motorists are being diverted along a new alignment through to the new R/A before rejoining the existing N11. These works have caused delays particularly during rush hours so bear that in mind.

KILKENNY: Michael St, from Wolfe Tone St jct to Bath Lane jct, will be closed from 8am to 6pm today to facilitate works.

WESTMEATH: The hard shoulder and left lane of the M6 Galway/ Dublin Rd eastbound are closed between J8 Athlone East and J7 Moate East until 19th June 2015 for works. Take extra care in the area.

MEATH: Works will take place on the N52 around Carlonstown Village between the N52 Kells/ Ardee Rd jct and the Navan/Kingscourt Rd (R162) from 8am to 6pm each day until approx. Sun 16th Nov. Take care on approach.

GALWAY: Cross St is closed between the Middle St and Bridge St jcts until Tues 11th Nov for works.

GALWAY: A stop go system is in operation on the N59 Galway/ Clifden Rd from Bushypark to Moycullen to facilitate works.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the N17 Tuam/ Claremorris Rd at Milltown between 7am and 7pm Mon to Fri until mid Dec. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays. This is to facilitate works.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the N63 Galway/ Longford Rd at Newbridge between 7am and 7pm Mon to Fri until mid Dec. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place in Letterfrack between 7am and 7pm Mon to Fri until mid Dec. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays.

KILKENNY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the N78 Kilkenny /Castlecomer Rd for works at Clashduff Bridge until Fri 7th Nov. Expect delays.

KILKENNY: Lwr Main St in Graiguenemanagh will be closed due to works until 7pm today. Motorists are advised to divert via Borris instead. It will be closed to all traffic from Mon 3rd to Thurs 6th Nov from 7am to 7pm daily.

DONEGAL: Traffic management is in place on the N15 Stranorlar/ Strabane Rd between Killygordon and Liscooley until Mon 15th Dec due to works taking place.

WATERFORD: Temporary traffic lights are in place on the R680 Carrick-on-Suir/ Waterford Rd between Carrick-on-Suir and Kilmeaden until Fri 21st Nov. This is to facilitate works.

CAVAN: Works are in place today on the N16 Sligo /Blacklion Rd until 5pm. Delays can be expected.

SLIGO: Works will take place on the local Moylough road and the Tubbercurry/Gurteen (R294) close to Leitrim South jct until Sun 16th Nov.
