Courtesy and Care Award

Co. Monaghan brought home its first AA Courtesy & Care Award on Wednesday night after The Lodge at Castle Leslie was presented with the top honour by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring TD, at the AA Hospitality Awards. The Courtesy & Care award is a testament to excellence in customer care executed by hospitality staff and is not granted lightly.

A member of The AA’s Secret Hotel Inspectorate commented: “This award is an acknowledgement to the staff at The Lodge at Castle Leslie who are inherently warm and welcoming; virtues that can make or break a stay. The members of staff at The Lodge are a credit to General Manager, Brian Baldwin.”

On awarding the top honour, The AA’s Director of Consumer Affairs Conor Faughnan, said: “Attentive and good-natured service delivery are some of the main criteria for the AA Courtesy & Care award. The team at The Lodge at Castle Leslie fits the bill in this regard and are great ambassadors for the industry as a whole, which is why we are delighted to be presenting them with this award.”

The AA four star property is located at the entrance of the lavish Castle Leslie Estate, a legacy of the Leslie family since the 16th century. Complete with Victorian Treatment Rooms and a nearby Equestrian Centre, The Lodge at Castle Leslie is an ideal setting for those who prefer the finer things in life.

On accepting the award, General Manager Brian Baldwin said: “Our service promise at Castle Leslie Estate is to provide a unique and memorable experience for all our guests, demonstrating the highest standards in customer care. Each and every member of the team thrives on the recognition received from guests and industry peers, and to be awarded the prestigious title of AA Courtesy and Care demonstrates that they are best in class.”

The AA Hospitality Awards are amongst the most prestigious awards of their kind and draw on the unrivalled knowledge and expertise of the AA inspectorate and other industry professionals involved in the judging process. Winners are selected in recognition of excellence and success within their chosen category, having shown a significant improvement in the preceding 12 to 18 months and proving their dedication to raising industry standards and enhancing both their guest and diner experiences.
