The Pins at The Twelve

aaicon Restaurant %

Part of the boutique-style Twelve Hotel, gastronomes will be pleased to learn that The Pins is actually an unusual amalgam of bar, bakery, bistro and pizzeria: the on-site Pins Bakery means that bread and pastries are as fresh as it gets, and if you want to keep things simple, the Dozzina pizzeria turns out traditional artisan pizzas made in an oven hewn from Vesuvian stone. But if you want to put the kitchen through its paces, there's also a menu of 'casual, local' food that champions regional suppliers in uncomplicated ideas along the lines of seared venison steak with venison sausage roll, braised red cabbage, root vegetables, and truffle mash and jus. If you're in the mood for fish, organic Connemara sea trout might be served with white beans, chorizo and chard in a mussel and wine broth. For more ambitious modern fare, head up to the first-floor West Restaurant (see separate entry under The Twelve).
