Brooks Restaurant at Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa

Leebrook, Tralee
aaicon Restaurant %

After 50 years in the hands of the same family, you might expect service at this upmarket country house hotel with a delicious pampering spa to run like a well-oiled clock, and you'd be right. The location, too, is a big plus: set in six acres of gorgeous gardens at the foot of the Kerry Mountains. Landscapes hereabouts run the gamut from mountains to lakes, woodland, and ocean - a perfect environment, then, for the kitchen to get its hands on the finest local materials from land and sea, so on the food front you can expect well-executed Irish cooking served in the bright and cheerful surroundings of the Brooks Restaurant. Start with heartwarming seafood chowder served with home-made brown soda bread, and go on with roast rack of lamb with wild mushrooms and sherry jus, or baked sea bass with potato rösti, crab meat, and fresh pea cream.
