Advice for disabled travelers

A guide to using parking permits, cards and placards around the world

EU/EEA - European Union/European Economic Area

A standardized model Parking Permit, called a ‘Parking Card’, has been introduced by the EU and EEA which most member states now issue. Your right to the parking concessions in the EU / EEA country in which you are travelling depends on the Parking Card / Permit you possess and your country of origin.

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automible (FIA) provides a good overview of the acceptability of various Parking Cards in respective EU/ EEA member states. To visit this dedication section of their website and educate yourself on where your parking card can be used, click here.

Outside the EU/EEA

If travelling outside the EU/EEA, please click on the corresponding country below for specific advice on use of Parking Permits.
