Published 21st May 2015Read Time 2 min

While you’re enjoying the events on the course, we want to make sure that off course, you’re also enjoying your time in Newcastle. Whether you’re going for a nice lunch or getting ready to hit the road home, we’ve put together a few options worth considering if you’re grabbing a bite to eat. It goes without saying that all restaurants will be very busy so it’s worth booking in advance.

1. Mourne Seafood Bar

Address: Main St, Dundrum, BT33 0LU Web: mourneseafood.com Phone: 028 4375 1377 Located around 10 minutes north of Newcastle, Mourne Seafood Bar is a sister establishment to those in Dublin and Belfast and has one AA Rosette. As though it wasn’t obvious from the restaurant’s name, patrons will have plenty of fish and shellfish to choose from, although there are sirloin steaks to choose from too.

2. Vanilla Restaurant

Address: 67, Main St, Newcastle, BT33 0AE Web: vanillarestaurant.co.uk Phone: 028 4372 2268 A hugely popular restaurant, it’s voted number one on Tripadvisor in both Newcastle and for county Down itself. Very busy most days of the week, the menu is quite varied and is reasonably priced. You won’t leave disappointed.

3. Brunel's Restaurant

Address: 9, Bryansford Rd, Newcastle, BT33 0HJ Web: brunelsrestaurant.co.uk Phone: 028 4372 3951 Offering a variety of menus covering lunch, early bird and dinner, Brunel's is another very popular spot offering both seafood and meat dishes. Their 3 course early bird menu is worthy of mention at £17.95. There is also a nice cocktail menu on offer. Main Image Credit:  thefoodplace.co.uk. Used under CC licence.
