A Predominantly Dry Weekend Ahead
OVERVIEW: A few scattered showers are possible on Saturday, but otherwise a mainly dry weekend is forecast. There will be some bright or sunny spells, before unsettled weather returns late in the weekend.
SIGNIFICANT WEATHER: Little or no risk of any significant or severe weather this weekend.
FORECAST: For most of the country, Saturday will be a day of sunshine and some scattered showers. The showers will be mainly light, and some areas will escape with a mostly dry day. Also, many of the showers will clear into Saturday evening so all areas will have a dry, chilly Saturday night.
It’ll be a chilly start to Sunday, particularly for the time of year. However, after that much of the day will be dry, with some bright or sunny spells and pleasant enough in the sunshine. Cloud will thicken from the south-west through the afternoon. with wet weather moving into Munster during Sunday evening, before then spreading north and east across many areas on Sunday night.
TEMPERATURES: Temperatures will be near or slightly below average for early to mid-August with highs of around 15C to 17C, pleasant enough though with some sunny spells. Quite chilly by night, especially on Saturday, with minimum temperatures of around 6C to 11C.
