Winter solstice today – click in to read our safe driving tips for travelling after dark

It’s the Winter Solstice today so that means we’ll only get about 7 and a half hours of daylight with the sun setting at about 16:08 to be precise.  We’ve dedicated a page on our website called ‘Driving after dark’ with lots of advice and interesting facts on driving and night vision.  Did you know that it’s a good idea to avoid smoking at night if driving as nicotine and carbon monoxide hamper night vision for example?
