AA Home Emergency response to the rescue!

date-icon 25 Jun 2012  author-icon Posted by Miriam O'Neill

Since launching our new service, AA Home Emergency Response, last February we’ve been coming to the rescue of homeowners with home emergencies at all hours of the day and night.  We’ve also been servicing lots and lots of boilers which is covered under the full AA Home Emergency Response Boiler Service and Repair option.

Lots of things can go wrong in a home some more serious than others.  To give you a little flavour of the home emergencies we’ve been called to recently we’ve listed some examples below:

One of our Home Emergency Response customers contacted us as their washing machine was leaking all over the floor.  The customer had pulled out the machine but was uncomfortable to start messing with the pipes in case he made the problem worse.  (A feeling lots of people will be familiar with!)  He contacted us and we sent a plumber out.  It turned out that the pipe was loose and needed tightening.  The problem was resolved within an hour and a half of calling us and it cost him nothing.

Another of our Home Emergency Response customers recently got their key stuck in their lock and actually broke it when trying to free it.  She was locked out of her house at 9 in the evening.  (Uh-oh!)  But not to worry she had Home Emergency Response Cover.  She contacted us on the emergency line and we sent out a locksmith immediately.  He was able to remove the broken key from the lock and the customer could use her spare key to get into the house. This all happened and was resolved within 40 mins of her initial call at no cost to her.

A few weekends ago one of our Home Emergency Response customer’s could not get the heat to come on and thought there may have been a problem with her boiler.  She called us and we sent an engineer out immediately and he found that the fan in the boiler was no longer working and needed to be replaced.  He ordered the part and returned later that day to replace it.  All done without costing her a penny!

Another example, one of our Home Emergency Response customers had a leak coming from the tap in their kitchen and contacted us at 5.30pm.  We sent a plumber out to stop the flow of water and find out what was causing the leak. He found that the tap was faulty and needed to be replaced.  He diverted the water from the kitchen to stop the leak while still ensuring  the rest of the house had water.    He also provided the customer with a price for replacing the faulty tap.  This was all completed within one and a half hours of the first call.

Phew another emergency diverted!
