If you’re planning to be out and about over the June Bank Holiday weekend, you can expect changes to public transport schedules. We’ve compiled the major alterations for Dublin Bus, Luas, Irish Rail (including DART) and Bus Éireann.
As always on a bank holiday, services are expected to be busy – so it’s best to book in advance if possible and leave plenty of extra time for your journey.
IRISH RAIL
Friday 1st June
- Normal weekday service.
- Extra capacity for Bloom in the Park, and extra services as follows:
- 9:18am Clara/Heuston
- 6:50am Heuston/Cork
Saturday 2nd June:
- Normal Saturday service.
- Extra DARTs before and after Republic of Ireland v USA at Aviva Stadium (kick-off 8:08pm).
Sunday 3rd June:
- Normal Sunday service with minor revisions.
- Extra services for the following events:
- Bloom in the Park:
- 7:45am Galway/Heuston
- 8:10am Cork/Heuston
- 6:10pm Heuston/Claremorris
- Cork City Marathon
- 7:30am Cobh/Cork
- 7:45am Midleton/Cork
- Women’s Mini Marathon, Dublin
- 9:40am Longford/Connolly
- Bloom in the Park:
Bank Holiday Monday 4th June:
- Intercity – check times before travel for alterations
- DART and Dublin Commuter – Sunday service
- Cork Commuter – Sunday service with some alterations

BUS ÉIREANN
Saturday 2nd June:
- Normal Saturday service.
Sunday 3rd June:
- Normal Sunday service with the following cancellations:
- 8pm Dublin/Waterford
- 10:30pm Dublin (Busáras)/Waterford
- 6pm Waterford/Busáras Direct
- 7:30pm Waterford/Busáras/DCU
- 3:30pm Dundalk/Galway
- 6pm Galway/Dundalk
- 10pm Carlow/Athlone
Bank Holiday Monday 4th June
- Sunday service with the following cancellations:
- 3:30pm Dundalk/Galway
- 6pm Galway/Dundalk
- 12:50pm Galway/Clifden
- 4:15pm Clifden/Galway
- The following additional services will operate:
- 1:30pm Clifden/Galway followed by a normal weekday timetable
- 6:15pm Galway/Clifden followed by a normal weekday timetable
- 8:05am Galway/Ballinrobe/Westport/Ballina followed by a normal weekday timetable
- 4:30pm Ballina/Westport/Ballinrobe/Galway followed by a normal weekday timetable
- 7:30am Ballybofey/Derry
- 6:10pm Derry/Ballybofey
- Cork City services will operate a normal Sunday timetable, plus the following additional services:
- Route 202: 6:35am from Merchant’s Quay; 7am from Apple Hollyhill
- Route 215: 6:30am, 7:30am and 8:15am from Grand Parade to Mahon Point
- Route 226: 7:30am and 8:30am from Parnell Place to Airport; 3pm and 4pm from Airport to Parnell Place
DUBLIN BUS
Saturday 2nd June:
- Normal Saturday service, Nitelink will operate.
Sunday 3th June:
- Normal Sunday service, no Nitelinks.
- Diversions will be in place from 1-6pm due to the Women’s Mini Marathon. Full details here.
Bank Holiday Monday 4th June:
- Sunday service, with no Nitelinks.
LUAS
Saturday 2nd June:
- Normal Saturday service.
