Quantitative Analyst – Operations

AA Ireland is currently recruiting for a Quantitative Analyst – Operations. This position will be based at the Head Office in Dublin City Centre within the Finance Department.

AA Ireland is one of Ireland’s leading consumer services businesses specialising in Motor, Home and Travel services and insurance. With more than half a million customers, they provide emergency rescue and breakdown cover for people on the road and in the home, as well as providing insurance for more than 200,000 customers. The AA employs almost 480 people across the country.

Location: Dublin City Centre

Hours: Mon-Fri 08:45 – 17:00

Reporting to: Pricing & Analytics Department

Job Purpose:

  • Design/development and implementation of operational processes based on complex business requirements to deliver reliable solutions to business strategies, in particular to AA Ireland Rescue analytical and Insurance call centre solutions
  • Analytics support on operational business processes
  • Build and maintain complex reports and visualizations to improve rescue and call centre operations efficiency
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on business processes and their development to answer key questions towards driving operations efficiency

Job Description overview:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain operational data driven solutions to business requirements (50% of the role)
  • Take ownership of some of the existing Operational Analytics processes, tools, and strategies, being responsible for the execution, maintenance, and evolution of same. (25% of the role)
  • Create a wide range of different data analysis and reports requested by different business areas (e.g., marketing) as well as communicate such results to a wide-range audience in a clear, concise, and efficient way. (25% of the role)

Personal Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Physics, Engineering, other Sciences, Computer Applications or relevant field. Priority will be given to those with a degree in Physics, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in analytical role with particular focus in complex coding.
  • Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
  • High level of programming ability.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate to Executive stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Interest in working within the Financial Sector.
  • Software Development Life Cycle – Testing and User Acceptance Testing

Knowledge of:

  • C# – intermediate
  • Python – intermediate
  • R – basic
  • SQL – basic
  • Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Data warehouse
  • Agile development processes and best practices
  • Experience with implementation of live process
  • TIBCO Spotfire or equivalent data visualization tools
