Dear Sir/Madam,
on your tips for the Euro 2012,you suggest an approximate driving time of 4 hours, from Poznan to Gdansk. This is very far fetched,it will take at least 6 hours. There is no orbital road around the city of Bydgoszcz, which has a population of 380,000.The road from Poznan to Bydgoszcz is a single carriageway, similar to many N roads in Ireland, but without the hard shoulder. On leaving Bydgoszcz, theroad is also single carriageway for most of the way to Gdansk. As you drive on these roads, the speed limits are constantly changing, the highest limit is 90kph,and this can go as low as 30kph.Please also advise your readers, that the Polish police are very vigilant, and there are ALWAYS many radar checks on these roads, along with speed cameras.I have driven these roads on many occasions,so I do know from experience.Driving in Poland is more dangerous than anywhere else in the EU.Also advise your readers of the hazards of railway crossings, and the lack of all types of road signage(speed limits, being the exception).
Best of luck to all,Gerry Mcguire.
