Speed Limits in England, Scotland and Wales

White Great Britain shares many common traffic laws, there is some variation in England, Scotland and Wales respective speed limits.

For private vehicles without trailers in built up areas the maximum allowed is up to 30 mph (48 km/h) unless otherwise indicated.

Outside built up areas the general limit is 60 mph (96 km/h). For motorways and dual-carriageways the speed limit is general up to 70 mph (112 km/h).
