Foggy conditions remain throughout the midlands and in the south of the country. Particular care is needed on the M7 Dublin/ Limerick Rd in Kildare between J12 Newbridge and J9 Naas North, further along the same route around Portlaoise in Laois and between J21 Borris in Ossory and J27 Birdhill in Tipperary. Ensure to use fog lights in affected areas but remember to switch them off afterwards.

LOUTH: Fog remains around Drogheda and Dundalk.

MEATH: Very foggy around Navan.

KILDARE: Still very foggy on all routes around Naas Town.

WESTMEATH: Foggy on all approaches to Mullingar and in Mullingar town.

LAOIS: There are also patches of fog along the N80 Carlow/ Tullamore Rd. 

OFFALY: Foggy on the outskirts of Tullamore.

CLARE: Fog is still quite heavy around Ennis town. 

LIMERICK: Fog is also an issue for motorists on the N21 Limerick/ Tralee Rd at Newcastle West.

TIPPERARY: Fog remains around Nenagh Town and also around Thurles.

KILKENNY: Heavy fog is still an issue for motorists around the county.

WEXFORD: Heavy fog around New Ross and Enniscorthy.


LAOIS: The local Strand Rd between Ballickmoyler and Tollerton is closed until further notice due to bridge damage at the Strand Bridge. Avoid the route.

CAVAN: Works will take place on the N54 Butlersbridge /Monaghan Rd from 9am to 5pm each day until Fri (21st). Expect delays.

MEATH: Toberstown Lane Bridge will close outside Stamullen for works from 8am to 6pm each day until Tues 25th Nov.

KILDARE: Both lanes on the M9 Dublin/ Waterford Rd southbound between J1 M7 and J2 Kilcullen are closed until Fri (21st). Motorists will travel along the hard shoulder. Delays can be expected particularly during peak traffic times. The motorway will then close completely both ways between J2 Kilcullen and J3 Athy until Sun (23rd). 

TIPPERARY/ CORK: The M8 Dublin/ Cork Rd southbound between J10 Cahir North and J12 Mitchelstown North is closed until midnight on Sun 7th Dec. Traffic will be diverted off at J10, follow the Old N8 (R639) and rejoin the M8 at J12.

CORK: Works are ongoing on the N20 Cork/ Limerick Rd between Buttevant and Lisballyhay until Dec. Expect delays.

MONAGHAN: Works will take place at various locations on the N53 Castleblayney/ Dundalk Rd from 9am until 5pm until this Fri (21st).

MAYO: Works are in place along the N5 Westport/ Swinford Rd between Castlebar and Westport until Fri 21st Nov. Expect delays.


LIMERICK: A crash on the Dock Rd at Shannonbridge R/A has been cleared. Otherwise traffic is moving in the city centre at this time.

CORK: There are currently no delays in the city centre.

One lane is closed on St Patrick's Quay until Thurs 27th Nov for works.

The N40 South Ring Rd will close eastbound Mon to Sat between midnight and 6am each day between J8 Douglas and J10 Mahon until Sun 30th Nov for works.

WATERFORD: There are no major problems in the city centre at this stage.

GALWAY: Traffic is moving well in Galway City at present.

Fog is also still lingering in Galway City. Use your fog lights if needed but make sure to turn them off when no longer required. 

Keep in mind that new traffic lights are in operation on the Headford Rd at Terryland. Motorists are advised to take care on approach as people get used to them.


LOUTH: Racing will take place at Dundalk Racecourse on Friday 21st November. The first race is at 5.40pm and the last race is at 9.10pm. Dundalk racecourse is situated approximately 1km north of Dundalk town centre, just off the M1 on the N52/Racecourse Rd. Extra traffic can be expected in the area before and after the races.

ANTRIM: Ulster play Ospreys at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday 21st November in round 8 of the Pro 12. Kick off is at 7.35pm. Kingspan Stadium is located on Ravenhill Park Rd in Belfast. Expect delays in the area before and after the match.

GALWAY: Connacht play Zebre at the Sportsground on Fri 21st Nov in round 8 of the Pro 12. Kick-Off is at 7.35pm. The Connacht Rugby Galway Sportsground is located on College Rd, not far from the Dublin Rd and a short distance from Eyre Square. Delays can be expected in the area around the stadium before and after the event.


KILDARE: The M9 Waterford/ Dublin Rd will close in both directions between J3 Athy and J2 Kilcullen from Fri 21st at 7pm until 6am on Sun 23rd Nov. Northbound traffic will be diverted at J3 Athy, via the N78 Athy Rd and the Athy/ Kilcullen Rd (R148), rejoining the M9 at J2 Kilcullen. Motorists travelling south will exit J2 Kilcullen, diverting via the Killcullen/ Castledermot Rd (R448/ Old N9) before joining the M9 again at J3 Athy.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights are in place on the N63 Galway/ Roscommon Rd approx. 2km on the Galway side of Moylough (at the townland of Laughill) from Mon to Fri between 8am and 5pm until Fri 19th Dec.

WEXFORD: Overnight works will operate on the N11 Dublin/ Wexford Rd south of Enniscorthy until Fri (21st) at 6am. Expect delays.

WICKLOW: Ferndale Rd will be closed at the jct with Old Connaught Ave and Thornhill Rd until Fri 27th March 2015 for works. A diversion route will be signposted.

WICKLOW: Diversions are in place on the N11 Wexford/ Dublin Rd at Jack Whites due to ongoing works until March 2015. Motorists are being diverted along a new alignment through to the new R/A before rejoining the existing N11. These works have caused delays particularly during rush hours so bear that in mind.

MEATH: Trimgate St, Watergate St, Ludlow St, Market Sq, Railway St and Kennedy Rd in Navan Town will close temporarily each night until Fri 28th Nov between 8pm and 5am to facilitate the installation of Christmas lights. Diversions will be in place.

WESTMEATH: The hard shoulder and left lane of the M6 Galway/ Dublin Rd eastbound are closed between J8 Athlone East and J7 Moate East until 19th June 2015 for works. Take extra care in the area.

LAOIS: The M7 Dublin/ Limerick Rd will be closed overnight southbound between J17 Portlaoise Centre and J18 Portlaoise West, Mon to Fri between 8pm and 6am until Sat 29th Nov for works. Diversions will be in place.

LIMERICK: Southbound traffic on the N21 Limerick/ Tralee Rd is being diverted at Newcastle West at the Old Pike R/A onto the Buttevant Rd (R522) before returning to the N21 at St It's Terrace until Fri 19th Dec. Northbound traffic will remain unaffected for the duration of the works.

TIPPERARY: Works will take place on the N52 Birr /Nenagh Rd at Gaulross, south of Borrisokane, until Fri 5th Dec. Expect delays.

WATERFORD: Temporary traffic lights are in place on the Carrick-on-Suir/ Waterford Rd (R680) between Carrick-on-Suir and Kilmeaden until Friday (21st) for works.

KERRY: Traffic at McSweeney's Corner in Killarney (the jct of Lewis Rd and College St) has been reduced to one way until Fri 5th Dec. As a result there is no access to Lewis Rd from Fair Hill and College St. This is to facilitate works.

KERRY: A stop/ go system is in operation on the N70 Tralee/ Kenmare Rd at Milltown until the end of Nov due to works. There will be significant traffic delays as a result and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
LONGFORD: Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the N5 Longford Westport Rd between Kilmore Crossroads and Longford Town Soccer Stadium until Fri 5th Dec. Expect delays.

LONGFORD: Works are ongoing on the N4 Sligo /Dublin Rd around 1km outside Edgeworthstown on the Longford side. These works will take place Mon to Fri from 8am to 6pm until Thurs (20th). Expect minor delays.

OFFALY: The N62 Thurles/ Athlone Rd will be closed between Cloghan and Ferbane until Fri 12th Dec to facilitate works. Diversions will be in place.

CAVAN: Works will take place at various locations on the N16 Sligo/ Blacklion Rd from 9am until 5pm until Fri 21st Nov.

DONEGAL: Traffic management is in place on the N15 Stranorlar/ Strabane Rd between Killygordon and Liscooley until Mon 15th Dec due to works taking place.

LOUTH: The N51 Drogheda/ Slane Rd will be closed from the M1 Interchange at J10 Drogheda North to the  Louth/ Meath boundary at Mattock Bridge until Fri 28th Nov to facilitate works. Diversions will be in place.

The Athlone/ Newgrove Rd (R363) will be closed at Ballyforan Bridge until Fri 12th Dec to facilitate works. Use an alternative route.

GALWAY: The Tuam/ Athenry Rd (R347) from the Dublin Rd jct in Tuam Town through to the jct with the N63 Claregalway/ Roscommon Rd will be closed until Thurs 20th Nov. Diversions are in place.

GALWAY: A stop/ go system is in place each day from 9am to 5pm in Loughrea between the Bride St/ Danesfort Rd jct and the Dolphin St jct and along Main St and Dunkellin St to facilitate works until this Fri (21st). Expect some delays.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the N63 Galway/ Longford Rd at Newbridge between 7am and 7pm Mon to Fri until mid Dec. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place in Letterfrack between 7am and 7pm Mon to Fri until mid Dec. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays.

SLIGO: Works are in place at  Pier Rd, Enniscrone until Fri (21st). Expect delays.

SLIGO: Works continue at the junction of Molloway Hill and the entrance to Sligo General Hospital from today (19th) to Fri 21st Nov. Traffic management system will be in place, but delays can be expected.   Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
