KILDARE: Collision southbound on the N7 Naas Rd between J7 Kill and J8 Johnstown blocking the right lane. Emergency services are at the scene.

WESTMEATH: Heavy traffic in Mullingar town centre as Mount St is closed for a Christmas festival. Diversions are in place. There are delays outbound on Dominick St and Oliver Plunkett St as a result. 

WICKLOW: It remains slow on the N11 Dublin/ Wexford Rd southbound between the Beehive and Barndarrig.

CORK: Works are in place on the N20 Cork/ Limerick Rd between Buttevant and Lisballyhay until later this evening. Expect delays.

TYRONE: Main St in Donaghmore is closed following an incident.

SLIGO: There is a fuel spill on the N16 Sligo/ Manorhamilton Rd at Drum. Gardai are advising motorists to drive with extreme care in the area as it is placed at a bad bend.


GALWAY: Traffic is very heavy both ways on the Headford Rd via the Galway S.C. and Terryland S.C. It's busy inbound on the N17 Tuam Rd from before Castlegar through to Bohermore. Heavy traffic around Eyre Sq with delays outbound on the Dock Rd. It's busy outbound College Rd and nearby it's heavy outbound on Lough Atalia. There are delays outbound on Seamus Quirke Rd via the Westside playing fields. It's also busy both ways on the Dublin Rd between the Wellpark Rd jct and GMIT.

LIMERICK: Limerick City traffic is slow both ways on O'Connell Ave and again between Punches Cross and the Crescent SC on the Ballinacurra Rd. Delays also on the Dublin Rd and on the Childers Rd by the Parkway R/A. It's busy inbound on Condell Rd from Ennis Rd Jct. Heavy inbound from Cratloe Rd through to Thomond Bridge. It's busy on the Dock Rd inbound. Traffic is busy but moving on Parnell St, Roches St and Henry St.

CORK: Delays on the Ballyhooley Rd between Dillons Cross and Ballyvolane. It's busy on the N27 South City Link Rd from South Douglas Rd Jct through to Albert St. Traffic is heavy in Cork City with delays on Parnell Place onto Merchant's Quay and through to Bachelor's Quay. It's very heavy both ways on Patrick St especially northbound over Patricks bridge and onto Macurtain St. Delays on the South Mall through to Grand Parade onto Washington St westbound to the Western Rd which is heavy outbound. Delays on the Wilton Rd inbound between Dennehy's Cross and Victoria Cross.

It's heavy on the N8 Lwr Glanmire Rd both ways between Tivoli Flyover and Horgan's Quay. Very Heavy on the Skehard Rd approaching the Link Rd which itself is heavy around Mahon Point SC. Delays also on all approaches to Douglas Village. 

Merchant's Quay and Paul St Car Parks are nearing capacity at this stage.

Lane restrictions will operate on South Mall tonight from 11:30pm until 6am Saturday (20th).

WATERFORD: Slow but moving from Manor St through to the Mall. It remains slow along the Quay both ways.

Keep in mind that the Waterford Winterval Christmas Festival takes place until Tues 23rd Dec (See events for more details). This may bring extra traffic to the area.


WESTMEATH: Mount St is closed from Blackhall St to the Market Sq until 6am Mon 22nd to facilitate the Mullingar Christmas Festival. Diversions are in place.

WATERFORD: Waterford Winterval Christmas Festival takes place until Tues 23rd Dec. Most events are taking place along the Quay and The Mall and will attract extra traffic to the area. Expect delays.

LOUTH: Racing takes place at Dundalk Racecourse this evening. The first race is at 6.15pm and the last race is at 9.15pm. Dundalk racecourse is situated approximately 1km north of Dundalk town centre, just off the M1 on the N52/Racecourse Rd. Extra traffic can be expected in the area before and after the races


WESTMEATH: The hard shoulder and left lane of the M6 Galway/ Dublin Rd eastbound are closed between J8 Athlone East and J7 Moate East until 19th June 2015 for works. Take extra care in the area.

TIPPERARY: A stop/ go system will be in place on the N62 Athlone/ Thurles Rd and on the N75 between Thurles and the M8 until Saturday (20th) from 8am until 6pm each day to facilitate works. This should not cause any major delays.

SLIGO: Works take place to widen Hughes Bridge on the N4 Sligo/Dublin Rd until approx. July 2015. Traffic management will be in place and delays are expected on all approaches to the works. Allow extra time for your journey. Delays and Lane closure are expected to be minimal over the Christmas period.

WICKLOW: Ferndale Rd will be closed at the jct with Old Connaught Ave and Thornhill Rd until Fri 27th March 2015 for works. A diversion route will be signposted.

WICKLOW: Diversions are in place on the N11 Wexford/ Dublin Rd at Jack Whites due to ongoing works until March 2015. Motorists are being diverted along a new alignment through to the new R/A before rejoining the existing N11. These works have caused delays particularly during rush hours so bear that in mind.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the N63 Galway/ Longford Rd at Newbridge until 7pm. Motorists should allow additional time for their journeys and expect delays.
