Important change to International Driving Permits (IDP)
From 18 May 2026, the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) will take over the processing and issuing of International Driving Permits. The AA will no longer provide this service after this date.
What this means for you:

Up to 15 May: You can still apply through the AA. Please ensure your application reaches us by this date.

From 18 May: You must apply directly through the NDLS. To do this, you will need to book an appointment at an NDLS centre by calling 0818 919 090.
Please note: Any applications received by the AA after 15 May 2026 cannot be processed. To protect your personal information and sensitive documents, these applications will be securely destroyed.
