How to winter-proof your home

The AA is advising homeowners to winter-proof their homes to protect against worsening weather conditions. With colder temperatures and unsettled conditions predicted for the rest of winter, safe-guarding your home against the elements can greatly reduce the risk of damage.

“It’s very important that you regularly maintain your home to prevent accidents occurring, but winter time can be especially volatile,” advises Conor Faughnan, Director of Consumer Affairs at The AA. “We’ve been looking after home insurance for over 30 years so we know the value of winter-proofing your home in advance of unsettled conditions.”
