Why Do I Need Mortgage Protection?

Mortgage Protection Cover is essential for anyone buying their home. It’s designed to pay the outstanding balance of your mortgage, should you die before it’s paid off. The remaining sum of your mortgage will be paid directly to your mortgage provider so your loved ones won’t have to pay it.

Your mortgage protection will run for the same length of time as your mortgage.

Why Choose The AA?

The AA has been in business in Ireland for over 100 years so we have a long history of looking after people. People know us best for fixing cars at the side of the road, with AA Membership, but we’ve also got very competitive mortgage protection prices. It can cost as little as €10 per month.*

Despite popular belief, you don’t have to take out your mortgage protection with your mortgage provider and you can switch to another provider at any time. Taking a few minutes to shop around could save you a lot over the life of your mortgage. Switching is not as time consuming as you’d think; you can get an AA Mortgage Protection quote in just one minute.

Types Of Cover

Single Cover – This covers one person and in the event of their death, their mortgage will be paid off in a lump sum to their mortgage provider.

Joint Cover - This covers two people and when one of them dies, their mortgage will be paid off in a lump sum to their mortgage provider.

Dual Cover - This also covers two people but unlike Joint Cover, after the first person dies and the mortgage is paid off, the remaining person will continue to have single life insurance cover. When they die, a payment will be made to the policy holder’s estate. If neither die before the mortgage is paid off, the insurance policy ends. The good news is, AA Mortgage Protection now comes with free Dual Cover.
