5 Benefits of booking your holiday early
Dreary January is upon us. It’s been cold, it’s been wet, its been windy and there’s that determined promise many of us made to ourselves to live off fish and steamed vegetables until the 31st. It all sounds a bit bleak doesn’t it?
One sure fire way to give yourself a lift is to start planning a good holiday for later in the year. There’s a lot to be chirpy about when you’re an early bird booker, for example…
- Hotels and travel operators often reward early holiday bookers with the likes of free child places, room upgrades, spa treatments and day trips.
- They also understand that January can be a lean month and many offer low booking deposits so don’t let finances put you off snapping up a great holiday deal.
- The first in the queue gets their choice of destination, accommodation and flights. Scooping up those last minute holiday deals is great but only if you’re completely open to where you go and where you stay.
- Like the retail sales, there tends to be plenty of money off deals this time of year on holidays. If you can manage to cough up your booking deposit now it can really pay off.
- Last but certainly not least, booking your holiday early will give you plenty of time to pay off your trip before you travel. I finally subscribed to that way of thinking last year and enjoyed coming home with more than the shirt on my back for once.
Take out travel insurance before you travel
Our last piece of advice is to take out travel insurance at the same time you book your holiday so you enjoy cancellation cover as well as all the other benefits. Annual multi-trip travel insurance is a good idea too. You can take out your policy early in the year and that’s you covered for where ever 2015 takes you.
