As you are likely aware, ongoing fuel protests across Ireland have made this a particularly challenging week on the roads. At AA Ireland, our priority remains the safety and mobility of our members.

Important Update: How fuel supply disruptions are affecting our service
Current Service Status
As of today, Monday, April 13th, we are operating our breakdown and recovery services at normal capacity.
However, we ask for your patience as some customers may experience delays in an AA patrol arriving due to significant traffic congestion and disruptions on major routes and motorways.
Potential Service Adjustments
While we are making every effort to maintain our standard service levels, the recent escalation in blockades has significantly slowed national fuel distribution. To ensure we can continue to support those in the most urgent need, we may need to implement the following priority measures if the current situation does not improve:
-
Prioritising Roadside Emergencies: All available resources and fuel reserves will be directed toward drivers stranded in high-risk or vulnerable positions at the roadside.
-
Home-Start Assistance: We may move to a reduced priority for all Home-Start call-outs. This could result in significantly longer wait times or a request to reschedule non-urgent assistance.
Looking Ahead
Should these measures be activated, they will remain in place until fuel availability returns to normal. We are closely monitoring the situation in real-time and will maintain standard operations for as long as it is feasible to do so.
