Winter Sports Cover is a travel insurance add-on which provides an extra level of cover if you’re taking to the slopes and includes cover for lost/stolen personal ski equipment and costs incurred as a result of piste closure or avalanche.

Do I Need a Winter Sports Cover?

Whether you’re a new or experienced skier Winter Sports Cover is a necessary add-on if you’re planning a trip to the slopes this year. This cover is available as an add-on to AA Travel Insurance, meaning you get benefits tailored to your needs in addition to the standard benefits of cover for delayed flight departures, stolen luggage and medical expenses.

What Does Winter Sports Cover Include?

Winter Sports Cover includes all the standard benefits of AA Travel Insurance, as well as cover for your ski equipment, ski pass and unexpected costs as a result of piste closure/avalanche.

If you bring your own ski equipment with you this will be covered up to a value of €1,000 in the event of loss, theft or damage, with any payout proportional to the value of the items at the time. Also covered are any costs resulting from piste closure or avalanche up to €600, as well as unused days on your ski and lift passes in the event that injury or illness prevents you from fully participating.

Am I Covered for Professional/Competitive Winter Sports?

Winter Sports Cover does not cover you if you’re taking part in a professional/competitive event. If you purchase this cover and are forced to make a claim, your insurer would be within their rights to void the cover if they have reason to believe that you were involved in a competitive event.

How Much Will Cover Cost?

Winter Sports Cover is not available on its own and instead must be purchased as an add-on to an AA Travel Insurance policy.
