The AA's Car Hire Partnerships

Published 19th July 2017Read Time 2 min

AA Ireland today announced new partnerships with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car to help reduce the cost of hiring a car while abroad as a part of its AA Rewards initiative.

The motoring organisation has partnered with the three car rental brands to provide access to vehicles for its members from 9,600 locations worldwide. As part of the partnership, AA members will receive up to 10% discount on the cost of car hire while abroad, as well as the ability to add an extra driver for free, an optional extra that normally costs an average of €8.00 per day.

“With primary schools having recently finished up for the summer break, the holiday season has well and truly kicked off and for many holiday-goers hiring a car during their trip is a key part of their plans. This partnership allows the AA to provide access to established and trusted car rental companies and to do so at a reduced rate for our members,” Conor Faughnan, AA Director of Consumer Affairs stated.

“In past years we’ve heard some horror stories from customers and members who had bad experiences hiring a car while abroad, particularly with lesser known companies, and by partnering with these trusted companies our customers will be able to enjoy their holiday and ensure a stress free holiday experience.

Car Hire Savings for AA Members

The partnership between the AA and Enterprise Rent-A-Car will also allow AA members to receive a 10% discount on car or van hire in Ireland and add an additional driver free of charge.

An AA Travel Insurance survey undertaken in 2012 found that one in five Irish holiday-goers had had a negative experience when previously renting a car while abroad.
